On the Innate Unfairness of the System Whether out of ignorance, malice, or sheer irresponsibility, a dog owner can keep a number of canines that bark all day and all night, non-stop, thereby destroying the health and well-being of neighboring families and making it impossible for them to function well enough to make a living and keep their heads above water. However, if, in a desperate attempt to safeguard the health and well-being of his family, one of the abused parties should record the sound of his neighbor's barking dogs and play it back at them at the exact same volume, he will be arrested. And that is a fact. Therefore, in summary, if your neighbor uses his barking dogs to project X amount of noise into your home, that's fine with the politicians who make the laws, because more often than not, they are more concerned with the wants of the special interests whose money keeps them in office than they are with the health and welfare of the citizens they have sworn to serve and protect. Those special interest incentives are the reason why the powers that be set up laws that allow your neighbors to treat you that way, and that's why they are quick to send out as many armed police officers as it takes to defend your neighbor's decision to inflict injury on you and your loved ones in that manner. That is also why, if you play a tape recording of your neighbor's barking dogs, and you thereby project the exact same noise back at them at the exact same volume at which they are force-feeding that exact same noise into your living quarters, you will be arrested and jailed.
