New Mexico Man Shoots His Own Dogs Because They Will Not Stop Barking
Kids see dogs shot
Independent Web Edition - Written by Jim Maniaci - Out of Gallup, New Mexico - July 5, 2003 KAIBETO CHAPTER - A 41-year-old local man will face complaints of cruelty to animals for shooting his children's two dogs in front of them because the canines wouldn't quit barking at nearby horses. According to the Tuba City Law Enforcement District report, Herbert Mann, who lives about three miles south of the Chapter House, also escaped when they were about to place him under arrest. The report added no immediate arrest charge was made, but a complaint would be filed in district court. The dogs, Macho and Angel, were tied up and killed with a .22-caliber rifle in the presence of Shane, Shadon and Chastity Mann, ages, 12, 9 and no age listed, the report added.
